Singapore Expo Sale and Macau Express

Went Singapore Expo last Friday.  It was crazy crowded with various fairs -baby & mother fair, Watson's sales, electronic appliances sales, Metro sales & Times Bookstore sales.  It was as if the whole of Singapore population was there, the young and old, males and females, omg....

Nerdy me with specs, was in a rush after nails appointment.
Was wearing kitty print singlet from Bangkok,
cream pants from Uniglo,
fabric sling bag from Naraya,
cream court shoes from Pazzion.

Our main aim was to buy a washing machine.  But as usual, I went astray and bought this crazy pink HP case @S$10.

We managed to settle with Toshiba's washing machine.  "Mission" accomplished and we went for early dinner.  Macau Express was right in front of us when we stepped out of the exhibition hall.  All we want was to rest our legs and settle our stomachs, ASAP.

Not much variety, but we weren't fussy as we were farnished.

Can you see the crowd along the passage way of the exhibition hall?

 Baked half chicken with rice.
It was either I was too hungry or the chicken was too delicious, or both.
But as you can judge from the pic, the chicken was in PERFECT color, with juiciness all locked inside.
Chicken meat so tender that I finished everything before realising........... yes, sinful T__T

Ginger steam milk was good.
It's one of my favourite dessert, should had "ta bao" a few more to bring home.

Hubby's baked beef rice.
Luis had baked chicken rice, which looked very similar to the above pic.

I really mean it when I mentioned we were farnished.

Total damage -

Thank goodness we were early, there was a long queue forming all the way at the entrance at around 6pm.

We went into Metro sales after dinner.  Our legs didn't allow us to continue with Times Bookstore sales.  Drove out and paid $11 plus for the parking of about 4 hours  T_____T  Moral of the story, only come to Singapore Expo if you really have something to buy, car park too expensive for you window shop.

My brand new washing machine was delivered on the very Sunday ^.^  I was so happy with it (especially when I didn't need to pay for it :X)

Introducing my Toshiba laundry bot with DD Invertor with 9kg capacity

4 Season Taiwanese Cuisine

As you know from the title, this is another food review!  Before rolling in the food pics, a couple of photos on what I wore that day ^.^

Blouse, red skirt, white clutch bag bought from Bangkok.
Rainbow heels from KIYO

4 Season Taiwanese Cuisine is located opposite of Ju Shin Jung Korean Charcoal BBQ Restaurant, which I had posted a review too.  Click here!

Simple interior, with stools;  I hate stools, couldn't rest my back T__T

It's a-la-carte buffet dinner, starting off with cold dishes~~

Black tofu, thinly sliced, was delicious even before tasting.

Spicy beef slices, yummy....

Crunchy cold cucumber with garlic and chilli.

The buffet comes with drinks.
However, they only have bubble green tea or bubble milk tea to chose from.
Purpose of the below pic is to show how HUMONGOUS their drinks are.
I was holding their bubble milk tea.

Bubble green tea.

Although it was a buffet, their main dishes were served in 1 pax portion >.<
Braised mince pork rice which my kids finished every grain.

Oyster mee sua.

OX sauce chee chiong fun (rice rolls)
This is so yummy with OX sauce and dried shrimps :P~~

This plate of big intestine and crispy salted chicken was served pipping hot.
When the plate arrived at our table, the whole atmosphere filled with aroma of the fried intestine.
My hubby went omg.... omg.... omg..... He totally LOVE IT lolxx....
It was so GOOD!!
Weren't too keen with the crispy salted chicken, we ordered it for the kids.

Sweet sour pork, taste ok but the chunks were too big.

Stir fried brinjal with long beans, not oily, mildly seasoned, finished the whole plate happily.

Bought coupons from Deal.com.sg.  @S$19.95 for buffet dinner (50% discount).  Price was  for weekdays only.  Need to top up $5 for Saturdays and Sundays.  So we went on a weekday.  Child fare was S$9.90 which we paid for Luis at the counter.  No GST, no service charge, drinks inclusive is a plus point, 1 pax portion for main dishes is a minus.  Was not bad a deal, but will be rather expensive to pay for the original price.

Will pop in again for causal dinning since they do serve a-la-carte menu too.

Warm afternoon at Tiong Bahru

A couple of weeks ago, hubby and me had lunch at Old Tiong Bahru Bak Kut Teh.

Their wet tissue package got a cute pink cartoon pig.
I don't think the pig is happy, cos' it's going to be cooked  >.<

Consisdered a lot for only 2 of us.

I love braised eggs and tau pok.  Infact I can be easily satisfied with this plate alone.

The intestines were a bit too salty.

4 pieces of prime ribs, so 2 for each of us.
When it comes to food (especially with limited amount),
have to calculative even if we are husband and wife, heehee....
Pepper-ish soup was nice enough to make us perspire.

Address of Old Tiong Bahru Bak Kut Teh

After the meal we went to GlamoGirl's office at Tiong Bahru to collect my prize.  Click here for full story ^.^

We walked around Tiong Bahru market area, in hope to find something interesting.  Hubby's patience was wearing off under the sun, so I had no choice but to hop into our mini bus to head home.  While he was driving, I spotted Tiong Bahru Bakery.  He had no choice but to stop the vehicle in order to fulfill my curiosity.

Enter through this single panel rotating door made me excited.
As soon as we entered the helpful staff asked if we need a table.
Told her we don't, just need to purchase from counter.

Didn't take pics of the interior cos' hubby was already not in his best mood.
At that point of time, all he could think of was to rush home and crush onto bed to snooze till dinner time.
Back to Tiong Bahru Bakery......
The place was considered crowded with diners having tea/coffee and bread/pastry as lunch.

Here's pics of my purchases~~

Chocolate chip bun and sugar bun, the cheapest items I could find at the counter @S$3.50 if I remembered correctly.  I really don't know how to appreciate hard buns, the atas box didn't help to justify the cost.

Squid ink burger with lots of rocket leaves and slices of smoked salmon and bacon @S$8.50.  The black bread taste exactly like our traditional steam bao, the only difference was the color.  The rocket leaves were no longer crispy after being exposed to our humid weather.  Smoked salmon and bacon weren't best friends,  they just taste saltish.

It was one of those days where I felt heart-pain for spending money (at the wrong place)..............

Dirty Works - Bye Bye Dark Circles

*Sponsored review

I was at GlamoGirl's office to collect my prize I won from their Facebook.
Thank you GlamoGirl for this pic with their cute photo border ^.^

My prize -
Bye Bye Dark Circles from Dirty Works.
(heehee..... witty brand name isn't it.)

Concealer for eye area in a cute cube.

When I opened the cube, I was surprised that it comes in 2 tones.

BEFORE

AFTER

REVIEW:

Packaging - The packaging is really cute. But my worry is what happened when the concealer is half used,  my long nails may just get obstructed by the cube.  I understand the purpose of having 2 tones is to suit different skin tones.  But it did not benefit me as I'm fair and the light tone is just right for me.  The darker tone of concealer is totally wasted.  It says at the package that it's perfectly sized for popping into our handbags.  But the thing is, I don't normally touch-up concealers when I'm out, I only bring compact powder in my bag.

Fragrance - Fragrance Free

Texture -  It's really greasy in texture.  However, it was absolutely fine after brushing on mineral foundation powder over.

Coverage - It's conceals my dark circles very well, just 3 dabs under each eye and I'm done!  Easy and fast.  Previously was using Faceshop's concealer, have to dab many many times before it can blend properly. I'm using the light tone only.  But if you skin tone is medium to sun-kissed, you can blend the 2 tones to get your right shade by dabbing.

As the texture is greasy, I felt "insecured" and check in the mirror after a couple of hours.  Only to realise that not only did this concealer covers my dark circles, it smoothen out fine lines too!  I winked, squinted did all funny expressions and my eye area was still SMOOTH without a crease.  And it stayed nicely throughout the day.

You can get Dirty Works Bye Bye Dark Circles online @S$11.90
