Labrador Nature Reserve

Date: 22.09.2013

Phew..... a bit overdue, but die die must post all the pics taken at Labrador Park here.

Miss my red hair, it's now faded to dusty pink.

Fallen leaves in hues of reds and browns, let's imagine there's autumn in Singapore.

Labrador Park is actually outlined by the coastal.

Fish Poison Tree, all parts of the tree are poisonous.  Not sure if it will cause death to humans, so don't chew any part of it unless you want a suicide.
As it's name suggested, all parts of the tree can be pounded into powder  and used to stun fish in freshwater streams.  Made some reads, the poison simply suffocates fish but it's flesh will not be affected (ie still can be eaten, heehee....)

It's flower, beautiful but poisonous, just like some women lolxx...

Fish Poison Fruit is dispersed in the same way as a coconut, by ocean current.  It's amazingly water-resistant and bouyant, able to survive afloat for up to 15 years!

Saw a big fat squirrel among Simpoh Air (aka CB leaves).

It's nibbling on fruits, damn cute!  Hubby started to talk and frightened it away.
If you want to see animals in natural reserves, it's better to keep chit-chat sessions else where.  Keep a look out for rattling sounds from trees/plants, keep your movements as quiet as possible, you may see more of these little guys.

This is the only flight of staircase, "sap sap soi" (cantonese).

Real firing cannon which was useless during World War II.

Couldn't remember what I was looking at but the beams of sun ray looked as if celestials were descending lolxx..

This cafe is just besides the National Park Office, but not open.

Didn't see any monkeys leh.

The leaves were big and red!

Love nature walks, but hate the fact that I got darker.

Red beacon

Sentosa is just 240m away.

Wave Master on it's way to Batam leh.

Redundant sign lolxx...

This huge natural rock is called Dragon's Teeth.

During 19th Century, this rock outcrop used to serve as the gateway to Keppel Harbour's western entrance, as a "landmark" for the sailors to travel through the narrow channel.

Very very gassy cola.

Bought from vending machine outside the restrooms.

Weather was warm, we were sticky all over, including cheeks, heehee....

Not sure why it was clinging there.  Kinda cute, but you can't tell whether it's male or female right?  lolxx..

Poky pricky Sea Holly.

The entire walk took about an hour only.  Here's a link if you are interested  www.nparks.gov.sg/cms/docs/LabradorNature&CoastalWalk_Final.pdf
